That’s how I feel after the last week. It was just one of those weeks, ya know? I was restless and bored and annoyed with everything and everyone. I was bored with the consistently healthy diet and feeling hungry all the time. I was tired. The weather sucked all week, and someone in my family took politics to a personal level and said very hurtful things to me, so that was rough.
At the end of the week, I kinda let go. I had a vendor hot dog on lunch for Friday, then had drinks after work. Then, I splurged and bought 3 books and then 3 dresses. Sigh… they’re really cute dresses, though, and I’m hoping really good books! Oh, and on a side note, both of my best friends (from home, and from college) got engaged this weekend! Craziness. So happy for both. 🙂
Anyway, it’s time to rewind and start again. Today I relaxed. Painted some pottery, took a jaunt through the zoo, and hung out. But tonight, I’m having salad with quinoa, and getting the week started again in the right way. The good news is, in two weeks, I’m going home – which I’m so happy about. I can’t wait to see my parents and dogs. Then the next weekend, Dan comes, and I couldn’t be more excited about that.
So here’s to taking some deep breaths, taking naps, and taking on a new week with a fresh look!
Hot Dogs aren’t so bad!! But, I know what you mean. I think it can get easy to so overwhelmed and just want to quit. I live in Philly where there is amazing ( but bad) food on every corner. I think something I do all the time is internalize all my mistakes, instead of celebrating all my successes.
But, bad days, bad weeks happen- just remember they are rollercoasters and eventually the ride ends, we just have to hang on for dear life.
